China Import and Export Fair, also known as the “Canton Fair”, is established in 1957. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre, it is held every spring and autumn in Guangzhou, China. The first Fair was staged in the former Sino-Soviet Friendship Building in the spring of 1957.
Starting with 12, 000 kinds of commodities, the Canton Fair has gradually increased its number of commodities available for export from session to session. In 2002 the Canton Fair was split into two phases, each lasting for 6 days, in order to provide more space for exhibitors. In this way, the exhibition space increased by 75%, to 310,000 m2.
It is held every year in October in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, not very far from Hangzhou. Yiwu Fair has been held since 1995, the next fair is the 15th edition. In 2002, it was improved and became international commodities fair. The Yiwu Fair is an internationalized event with excellent services.
Since its launching, Yiwu Fair has become the third largest exhibition sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. Yiwu Fair covers Hardware, Electronic & Electrical Appliances, Knitwear, Jewelry & Accessories, Crafts, Daily Necessities, and Cultural & Sports Goods.
